Did you know... that male kangaroos are known as "bucks" and females as "does"? The WG Kangaroo prefers open grassland near water with a forest or woodland close at hand. It eats grasses, herbs, low shrubs and tree bark.

Did you know... that WG Kangaroos can prevent overheating from the sweltering desert sun by licking their forelimbs and pants and let evaporation remove the heat? They also sweat during exercise to get rid of extra heat. The WG Kangaroo can adjust the volume in its vascular system to prevent heart impairment when it loses water.

Red Kangaroo These

Macropus rufus is commonly known as the Red Kangaroo. Red Kangaroos are large, in fact, it is the largest species of marsupial. They can reach up to four feet tall. Males can weigh up to 180 pounds, females, up to 65 pounds. Living in the plains, grasslands, woods and desert, it is a native of Australia.

Did you know... that baby kangaroos are called "joeys"? Did you also know.... that Red kangaroos can jump 30 feet in one leap! For short distances, they can move 35 miles per hour!
