are not going to get into a philosophical discussion here regarding what
it means to be a person and the fundamentals of reality. For the
purpose of categorizing images, we are merely going to say that people are
human beings in general - persons, individuals, humans, mortals, souls,
men, women, children.
When
taking photographs in public places, quite often it is the people who make
an image both interesting and appealing. The laws regarding
photographing people vary in different countries
and places where you may wish to shoot. For example, zooming your
camera onto someone's private property where they have a "reasonable
expectation of privacy" is a definite no no. Taking photographs
in public, however, is a different matter and publishing those images is
quite another. I
am not a lawyer and cannot give you any advice regarding the taking and
publishing of images of people. If you want to use a person's image
for a commercial purpose,
the safest bet always, is to ensure
that all identifiable subjects have signed a model release.
