Cargo ships are also known as "freighters".  These types of ships carry goods and materials, known as "cargo", from one port to another.  They are an important mode of transportation for international trade.

Cargo ships are usually equipped with cranes used to load and unload large containers.  While most of the ship is loaded with freight, there are also living quarters for the captain and crew.
